GLASS FUSION
Glass fusion can be wonderfully addictive. Side effects may include smiling, creativity, and immediately planning your next project!

Design beautiful fused glass projects using vibrant color and textures.

Think of glass fusion as baking... but instead of cookies, you're creating beautiful works of art!

You start with colourful pieces of specialty glass, then cut, layer, stack, and arrange them into your own unique design. Once you're happy with your masterpiece, we carefully place it in a special kiln where the glass softens, melts together, and becomes one solid piece.

The best part? You don't have to be an artist to create something amazing! Whether you love bright colours, bold patterns, delicate flowers, whimsical animals, or modern designs, every project is completely unique—just like the person who made it.

After the kiln has worked its magic, cooled down, your finished piece is transformed into a beautiful keepsake you can display, wear, gift, or use every day.

No experience required. Just bring your imagination, we'll take care of the heat!

The Studio
Glass melting at its finest

Once you've created your glass masterpiece, it's time for the real magic!

So, what's the difference between firing pottery and firing glass?

Think of it this way...

Pottery starts as soft clay. The kiln bakes it until it becomes strong, durable ceramic.

Glass is already glass! Instead of hardening it, the kiln gently warms it until the pieces soften, melt together, and become one solid work of art.

Even though both projects take a trip through the kiln, they each have their own special "recipe." Pottery and glass are fired at different temperatures and follow completely different schedules, so every masterpiece gets exactly the care it needs.

Now all that's left is for the kiln to cool... and for you to fall in love with your one-of-a-kind creation!

Kiln

What Happens to Glass in the Kiln?

Have you ever wondered how a handful of colourful glass pieces becomes one beautiful work of art? The answer is all about time, temperature, and a little bit of kiln magic!

Once your project is placed in the kiln, it doesn't simply get hot and melt. Instead, the kiln follows a carefully programmed schedule that slowly raises and lowers the temperature over many hours.

Step 1: A Slow Warm-Up

The kiln gradually heats the glass to prevent it from cracking due to sudden temperature changes. Glass doesn't like to be rushed, so patience is key!

Step 2: The Magic Begins

As the temperature climbs, the glass starts to soften. The individual pieces begin to bond together, almost like cheese melting on a pizza. Depending on the design, the glass may simply "tack fuse" (where the pieces stick together but keep their texture) or "full fuse" into one smooth, solid sheet.

Step 3: Shaping the Glass

Some projects are fired a second time over a ceramic mould. As the glass softens again, gravity gently allows it to slump into the mould, creating bowls, dishes, spoon rests, and other beautiful functional pieces.

Step 4: The Cooling Process

Cooling the glass is just as important as heating it. If it cools too quickly, stress can build up inside the glass, causing it to crack—even days later.

To prevent this, the kiln holds the glass at a special temperature during the cooling cycle. This process is called annealing, and it allows the glass to relax and release any internal stress before it continues cooling to room temperature.

The Grand Finale

After many hours—and sometimes overnight—the kiln is finally cool enough to open. What started as separate pieces of colourful glass has been permanently transformed into one beautiful, durable work of art that's ready to display, use, or treasure for years to come.

Every kiln firing is a little bit of science, a little bit of art, and a whole lot of magic. That's why no two fused glass creations are ever exactly alike—and that's part of what makes them so special!

Every piece is handmade, making every project one of a kind.
